Utilities technology group was formed in 2007 by our managing director Andrew Cavanagh. Andrew has been in the business airtime and mobile phone industry since 1998 and has gained vast experience and knowledge of the sector over the last 26 years.
In 2015 UTG diversified into VOIP, hosted telephony and high speed connectivity. We also formed our energy broker arm in 2016.
This enabled us to offer our clients a full unified comms solution with all services on one bill every month.
We have exclusive wholesale agreements with BT,O2,EE and Vodafone which enables us offer our clients the very best support and service with the latest technology and equipment.
We are registered apple, Samsung and Yealink stockist enabling us to source the latest tech and hardware at competitive prices.
In relation to our commercial energy broker side, we are a fully registered TPI with Ofgem and have an ADR licence to enable us to act and arrange commercial gas and electricity SME and corporate contracts within the UK.
We can obtain bespoke pricing which isn’t available online and search through the energy market to find our clients the very best pricing available at that time. Our industry knowledge allows us to keep ahead of the curve and make sure we are advising our clients accordingly and professionally at all times.
Meet The Team
Andrew Cavanagh
Managing director
Our MD Andy has 26 years experience in the sector and Formed UTG back in 2007. He’s a family man with 3 daughters and is also an avid football and boxing fan. He enjoys going the gym, going on hikes and spending time with his family and watching Liverpool FC.
Matthew Arnold
Operations Director
Matthew joined UTG in 2010 alongside studying in Business and Finance. He soon became a full-time member of staff supporting our customer service team. Now, with a decade and a half of experience in the telecoms and energy industry, what he doesn’t know, isn’t worth knowing.
As our Operations Director, Matthew gets stuck in to all aspects of the business. From procurement, account management to billing. He is an integral part of our team ensuring everything runs smoothly behind the scenes, allowing us to deliver exceptional service for our clients.
When not working for UTG, the work doesn’t stop. Matthew is a keen DIY’er and has recently completed his 3rd full house renovation. His spare time is spent with his young family with trips to Chester Zoo being a family favourite.
Shaun Fagan

Hello,
My name is Shaun Fagan and I have been happily employed with Utilities Technology Group since 2019.
I have found my role growing and evolving over time. I primarily deal with day to day admin in relation to customer energy queries, contract submission and pricing. Over the years though my knowledge and skillset also has branched into mobiles, phones, broadband and billing. I enjoy working with a close knit group of people who all compliment each other’s work values and work ethics.
Working at UTG suits my work/social life balance perfectly as it has allowed me to pursue other interests as well as maintaining a career.
Outside of the business I’m a man of simple tastes. Put me in front of a cinema screen and I am happy!

Hi,
I’m the business development manager for UTG. Outside of work I enjoy socialising and spending time with my family. I enjoy running and regularly take part if different 5k and 10k runs
